SeedEngine is a generative MIDI sequencer VST3/AU plugin for Windows and macOS, inspired by the philosophy of generative hardware sequencers — but extending it far beyond its original capabilities.

Fast creation of melodies, basslines, arpeggios and evolving patterns
SeedEngine is designed to inspire new musical ideas while keeping the composer in control. Adjust note probabilities, scales, rhythm, density and variation in real time until the sequence becomes your own.
The Seed
Every generated sequence is identified by an 8-character code. Share it, recall it, reproduce it exactly — any time.
Generate & Mutate
Generate creates a completely new sequence. Mutate reshuffles the current one — from subtle to radical, depending on Mutate %.
MelodyLock & RhythmLock
Freeze the melody or the rhythm independently. Keep mutating one while the other stays exactly as it is.
Scale & Note Probability
Set a root, a scale and individual note probabilities — every generated sequence stays musical, always in key.
Chords & Arpeggios
From single notes to full chord voicings, with arpeggio modes (Up / Down / Up-Down) and polyphony control up to 6 voices.
Euclidean Grid
Distribute pulses with mathematical evenness across any number of steps — a classic technique from African and Middle Eastern rhythmic traditions.
Ratchets, Ties & Accents
Add subdivision, legato and dynamic variation — independently controlled by probability.
Transpose, Swing & Direction
Live parameters that reshape how the sequence plays without ever touching the seed — remove them and the original feel returns exactly.
MIDI In
Play a chord on a keyboard — the note probability sliders update instantly and the sequence recalculates in real time to follow your harmony.
7 Independent LFOs
Assign continuous modulation to Mutate, Fill, Accent, Note Range, Repeat, Magnet or Polyphony — the sequence evolves autonomously over time.
Multi-channel output
Route notes across up to 16 MIDI channels — Round Robin, Random or Note-based assignment — for multi-instrument setups.
